Two series of informal new leisure evenings – butchery and cake making – have been launched for 2017.
The new butchery evenings, which cover lamb, pork, venison, game birds and sausages, are run by the jovial Pete Congerton of Berkshire butchers Cook and Butcher and start at the end of January.
Cakes with Seasonal Ingredients evenings take place throughout the year, starting with ‘Winter Cake Comforts’ in March, through to ‘Summer in Full Swing’, and ending with a Christmas themed ‘Stir-Up-Monday’. They are run by talented local entrepreneur Kate Saunders of Blackberry Cottage.
Kate has received awards from Small Business Sunday, The Good Food Show and Countryside Alliance among others. Pete was recognised by the Berkshire and Buckinghamshire Life Food and Drink Awards in 2016. He was also the popular winner in the food tent at the Royal County of Berkshire Show.
Added to the existing beekeeping, lambing, gardening, dog training and other courses, BCA can now truly offer something for all tastes. “We are delighted to work with Kate and Pete and look forward to welcoming new and existing friends to the leisure evenings. Group discounts, bespoke courses and corporate bookings are all newly available and the evenings also make perfect presents for those who have everything!” says Liz Hadden, College Assistant Principal.
